Is PRP Facelift Effective to Remove/Reduce Acne Scars?

Acne is a common skin problem but it can go deeper than most facial-related conditions. As we all know, acne scars are not just external issues that most people have to deal with at a certain point in their life. The emotional and psychological trauma caused by this skin condition can be that intense for those who suffer from it. Just imagine how people with severe acne scars could lose their self-esteem and feel depressed, and eventually, suffer from social anxiety.

If only there’s a certain makeup or a concealer that can fix rough and potholed acne scars effectively and in a short time. Then acne scars will no longer be a big deal for everyone. Unfortunately, this thing does not exist, at least at the moment. The only way available at present to significantly reduce the appearance of acne scars are treatments conducted in the clinic.

Treating Acne Can Be Challenging

Acne can be caused by many factors such as diet, lifestyle, fluctuating hormones, etc. Because of that, treating it can be hard to address. While it’s true that acne heals and clears out after some time, the scars and hyperpigmentation it leaves behind cannot be easily solved using topical creams. And mostly, this becomes a greater concern for people who are affected by it.

There are numerous cosmetic procedures developed and made available for patients, but most of these are intended to promote healthy new skin by addressing the first signs of aging. Acne scars go beyond simply being a major cause of cosmetic concern as there’s a host of internal difficulties that may bring attention to this condition.

Even as there are some techniques for treating acne scars being used at present, their success and associated side effects come in varying degrees. This makes the process of resolving this skin problem even more difficult.

About the PRP Treatment

Platelet-rich plasma or simply PRP facelift was initially used to treat pain, arthritis, and other body injuries. As its name suggests, this procedure uses platelets obtained from the patient’s blood that were re-injected back into the areas that need improvement. The platelets contain at least seven growth factors that work wonderfully in healing tissues. Specifically, they induce localized inflammation resulting in collagen stimulation and other regenerative properties.

  • What Skin Problems Can PRP Help With

Generally, PRP treatment is an exciting method that helps in skin rejuvenation. But the specific healing wonders of this natural serum can be that varied. If you have unwanted skin deformations such as stretch marks, wrinkles, fine lines, acne scars, neck, and décolletage, etc., that you wanted to get rid of without undergoing surgery, the PRP treatment can be a perfect option for you.

  • How PRP Treatment Works

The PRP treatment uses the platelet cells from your blood. These are rich in growth factors and stem cells necessary for the regeneration and remodeling of the skin. They also help increase elastin and collagen production naturally, resulting in a plumped and rejuvenated skin, reduced wrinkles and fine lines, and radiantly glowing appearance.

  • When to Consider Using PRP Facelift

If there’s an area of your skin that you wanted to be improved, you won’t go wrong using PRP Facelift. While this procedure is often performed on the facial skin, it also works on other skin areas that need rejuvenation such as the neck and neckline or the hand dorsal surface. When you have any of the following signs, then it’s high time that you consider using PRP Facelift:

  • Primary signs of aging such as reduced skin elasticity, wrinkles, skin dryness, etc.
  • Dull or tired-looking skin
  • Skin discoloration
  • Stretched marks
  • Acne scars
  • Burn scars
  • Suffering from alopecia or extreme hair fall

PRP also works for those who have undergone or currently undergoing laser treatments. Given its rich plasma content, the PRP Facelift would help accelerate the regenerative process. This is also an excellent treatment option for individuals having allergies and cannot undergo rejuvenating treatments that use synthetic components.

  • Advantages of Using PRP Facelift

Using PRP Facelift can be very advantageous for you. Here are some of the things you get to enjoy with this amazing treatment.

  • It has no known side effects and eliminates the risk of allergic reaction since it uses your blood products without any foreign or synthetic chemicals.
  • It is effective in repairing tissues and promoting their growth.
  • It provides an instant skin regeneration effect.
  • It offers lasting results by stimulating collagen production (6-12 weeks).
  • It can treat multiple skin conditions in just one treatment.
  • It requires minimal recovery as there’s very little or no bruising or swelling.
  • It is suitable for all skin types of both men and women.
  • It helps maintain a natural look and does not alter your facial expressions.

  • Procedure in Performing PRP Facelift

Two days before your scheduled PRP Facelift treatment, you should avoid taking aspirin and any other medications that may disrupt blood clotting.

Your provider will begin the procedure by taking a blood sample from your arm and centrifuge it for a few minutes to get the platelet-rich plasma. This then is injected into specific areas of the skin. The PRP can be administered alongside stretch marks, wrinkles, fine lines or furrows, on sites with scars or discolorations, or elsewhere on the face where correction or rejuvenation is needed, as well as on the scalp.

The entire procedure will last for several dozen minutes. After it, minimal swelling or tiny self-limiting bleeding may be observed in the injected areas. With the help of an anesthetic cream, you won’t feel any discomfort during and after the treatment. A few days after your PRP Facelift, your skin heals.

It is recommended that after your PRP Facelift treatment, you stay away from using the pool or sauna and avoid sun exposure. You can see the final effect of the treatment after a few or several days. If you want to optimize the rejuvenating effect, you can have the procedure done again in the future.

How PRP Facelift Works for Acne Scars

The PRP treatment is developed primarily to accelerate the healing of wounds by delivering highly concentrated growth factors to the affected areas. Considered as the “enhancement factor,” PRP has shown success in various clinical procedures such as bone grafting, dental implants, and leg ulcers.

In dermatological procedures, PRP plays a key role in supplementing the results produced in primary methods of treating certain conditions such as androgenetic alopecia and acne scars. Aside from that, PRP is also increasingly gaining popularity as a treatment option for facial skin rejuvenation, especially among celebrities and beauty enthusiasts.

This new method of utilizing your blood to treat pitted acne scars shows promising results for those who are looking to end their dilemma with their acne scars. The platelets obtained from your blood after the centrifugation process has a plethora of beneficial growth factors. When these are injected back into the skin, they stimulate collagen and elastin regrowth and helps promote skin healing. The body’s natural healing process and reparative tissue processes help in eliminating acne scars and rejuvenating the skin.

How Effective PRP Facelift is in Treating Acne Scars

The power of the PRP Facelift in smoothening out wrinkles and lines, tightening skin stone, and improving skin complexion has been documented several times. Its effectiveness in treating acne scarring and hyper-pigmentation has also been proven in some studies. In most cases, the PRP Facelift was shown as an effective adjuvant therapy for acne scars. It means that the effectiveness of the PRP is augmented when combined with other acne scar treatment methods.

But even as a single modality, PRP proves itself as an effective acne scar remover. In a study where patients with Grade 2 and 3 acne scars have been treated with PRP, the results show a significant reduction in the patient’s acne scar sizes. This leads to the conclusion that PRP Facelift, whether used alone or with other modalities, is an effective and well-tolerated procedure in the treatment of acne scars without any major side effects.

The effectiveness of the PRP Facelift is highly dependent on how the plasma is prepared. A skillful preparation will lead to well-concentrated active compounds. Another important factor to consider is how skillful the technique is in injecting the plasma into the targeted sites. That being said, the PRP Facelift must be performed in well-known aesthetic medicine clinics complete with specialized equipment as well as certified and well-trained staff.

Botox and dermal fillers are injectable fillers, a.k.a., injectable cosmetic fillers or injectable facial fillers, which are injected into the skin to remove the wrinkles and to give a fresh, smoother and younger appearance. Both Botox and dermal fillers do not involve any surgery as like the other beautification techniques such as Facial Contouring and Facial Rejuvenation. Although functionally similar yet there are marked differences in chemical composition and applications of these fillers.

People are becoming more and more conscious about their beauty and looking towards various surgical and non-surgical methods to improve their outlook. According to a report by the American Society of Plastic Surgery, more than 15.9 million surgical and non-surgical procedures performed in the United States in 2015, a 2% increase over 2015. Owing to the risk associated with surgical methods, people – particularly celebrities –  are resorting towards non-surgical procedures like Botox and dermal fillers to beautify their appearance and to look attractive.

Owing to the increasing demand of skincare products, it has become quintessential to study the benefits, side effects, costs, procedures and usage of these products. Two of these products – Botox and dermal filters – will be discussed in length in this articles and key differences between them will be discussed at the end.

What is Botox?

Botulinum Toxin (Botox) is a material which has been in use for medical purpose for over a century; however, its efficacy as a skincare product has been discovered recently. It is made from a neurotoxin called botulinum toxin that is made by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum, an organism found in natural environment.

Botox is used medically to treat certain muscular conditions, and cosmetically to remove wrinkles and reduce fine lines by temporarily paralyzing the underlying muscles. It blocks the nerve signals in the muscles where it is injected thereby paralyzing the muscles. As the muscles are unable to move, so certain wrinkles are reduced, softened, or even removed. Botox is a popular cosmetic treatment, which does not involve any surgery, with more than 6 million Botox treatments administered each year.

Which Wrinkles can be reduced through Botox?

Botox is used mainly to treat wrinkles that are caused by the muscle movements. These types of wrinkles are called dynamic wrinkles. These wrinkles occur naturally around the eyes and mouth, as well as in between your eyebrows and become more visible with age. The horizontal lines on the forehead and cow’s feet around the eyes are dynamic wrinkles.  These lines are caused by smiling, frowning, squinting, and other facial expressions. The injections of Botox relax the muscles near these wrinkles, not allowing them to move thereby reducing the appearance of these dynamic wrinkles.

Repeated Botox injections are necessary for the continued wrinkles reductions and the process needs to be repeated after every 3-4 months. Moreover, the Botox treatment cannot be used to reduce static wrinkles such as the lines in the cheeks, jowl, and neck areas.

Precautions for Using Botox Injections

Generally, Botox treatments are well-tolerated by the body but sometimes minor risks such as headache, flu-like illnesses, bruising, and pain at the site of injection are associated with using this treatment. Nevertheless, these risks can be reduced through care. First of all, these treatments must be carried out by a professional dermatologist who has experience with these kind of medications before. Secondly, the receiver of the treatment must not use any supplement which are used to thin the blood because it can result in increased bleeding at the site of injection thereby causing the bruise. Moreover, the dose must be adjusted in such a way to give natural outlook. Therefore, the above precautions must be taken before Botox injections.

Furthermore, Botox treatments are not recommended for the people who are pregnant or nursing, have weak facial muscles, currently have skin issues such as deep scars, or have any type of neuromuscular disease.

What are Dermal Fillers?

Dermal fillers, sometimes also called as soft tissue fillers, are the injections of a gel that fills the wrinkles and add volume to the skin. The substances which are typically used as dermal fillers are Calcium hydroxyapatite, Hyaluronic acid, Polyalkylimide, Polylactic acid, and Polymethyl-methacrylate microspheres (PMMA).

These fillers help to maintain shape and remove depression from the skin. With age, the face loses fat or collagen filled with hyaluronic acid and, therefore, the facial muscles start working closer. Owing to this, small lines began appearing on the face.  Dermal fillers recover the lost facial volume and can stimulate the growth of collagen lost due to the aging. First, they plump skin and gently lift it to restore collagen loss due to the normal aging process. Secondly, dermal fillers motivate the body to create its own natural collagen and restore your face to a more natural, youthful appearance. Other factor which can result in loss of facial volume include sun exposure and unhealthy life styles as well. So, dermal fillers are an effective way of reducing wrinkles and lines from the face.

What Dermal Fillers can do:

  • Plump thin lips
  • Enhance shallow contours
  • Soften facial creases and wrinkles
  • Improve the appearance of recessed scars
  • Reconstruct contour deformities in the face
  • Decrease or remove the shadow of the lower lids

Which Wrinkles can be reduced through Dermal Fillers?

Dermal fillers can be used to treat static wrinkles which do appear as the result of muscle movements. The static wrinkles usually appear around the mouth and along the cheeks and are the result of loss of collagen and elasticity in the skin.

Precautions for using Dermal Fillers

Like Botox, the side effects of using dermal fillers are not severe and can be eliminated through care. After injections, the temporary side effects that are quite common at the site of injection are swelling, redness, itching, bruising, and tenderness. These reactions usually appear after a few hours or within few days and can get resolved without any medication. Nevertheless, it is necessary to get allergy testing before injecting a particular type of dermal filler to avoid these kinds of reactions.

Important differences between Botox and Dermal Fillers

Although Botox and dermal fillers are used as a skincare product to cure the wrinkles and are injected into the skin without any surgery yet both of these treatments are completely different and are specific to different type of wrinkles. Important differences between Botox and dermal filler injection are enumerated as below: –

  1. Difference in Method

Botox inhibits the movements of small muscles which are responsible for producing wrinkles and lines on face and several other parts of body. Botox relaxes these muscles, paralyzing them, and removing the lines and wrinkles. Whilst, dermal fillers fill the wrinkles and lines produced due to the loss of collagen from the skin by aging, sun exposure, and unhealthy life styles with a gel.  The gel can stimulate the growth of lost collagen and give a smoother and youthful look.

  1. Difference in the Application

As already discussed, Botox and dermal filler injections are used to reduce different kinds of wrinkles and lines from the face. Botox injections are used to cure dynamic wrinkles which become visible due to increased muscle movements during our facial activity. While, dermal fillers are used to reduce static wrinkles which are visible even when your face is relaxed and making no expression.

Dermal filters are usually used to give plumping smoothening and sculpting effects such as brow shaping/lifting, cheek enhancement, nose reshaping, to mention only a few. While, Botox is usually used for reducing wrinkles and lines which appear during facial activity around the forehead and eyes. It has nothing to do with plumbing smoothening or sculpting.  The following figure illustrates the difference in the application of Botox and dermal fillers.

Figure 1: Difference in Application of Botox and Dermal Fillers

  1. Visibility of Results

Dermal filler treatments typically take 20-40 minutes and the amount of dermal filler needed will depend on volume loss and the areas you would like to restore to its natural beauty. You will see results immediately after treatment. In contrast, in the case of Botox treatment, the results cannot be seen immediately after the treatment. It usually takes few days to reduce the wrinkles because muscles movements take time to stop.

On a final note:

Botox and dermal filler injections are being used by a number of people all around the world to reduces the visibility of wrinkles from their faces and this number is increasing further. Injections of Botox and dermal fillers have become important skincare and beautification techniques. These injections are absolutely save if necessary precautions must be taken and performed on healthy people. Both of these injections are used to reduce wrinkles; however, they are used for different set of wrinkles, for different purposes, and have different procedures. Therefore, it is pertinent to understand the procedure, purposes and take precautions before undergoing the specific injection for the smoothening of specific set of wrinkles.

We hope that helps you on your anti-aging journey.

What is anti aging? What should it mean to you?

What is Anti Aging?

Anti aging is the direct opposite to aging. This means that before we can understand what exactly is anti aging, we must first of all seek to understand what aging is. Understanding the process of aging is fortunately not an uphill task for anyone of us, right?. Human beings grow old as life goes on and this holds true for every other living thing.

With that said, our body cells grow old with the advancement of age, which means that their overall strength and resilience to powerful forces of nature reduces as well. As the years advance, the body’s ability to manufacture new cells diminishes significantly, cells start dying and the aging process starts manifesting itself from your skin.

Anti aging is therefore the efforts to counter cell degeneration, which is one of the major factors that cause aging. It is simply delaying the aging process.

Dermal Fillers

The alternative option to plastic surgery, dermal fillers are less invasive and there is virtually no downtime. With dermal fillers, you can fix a number of skin discrepancies. Treat areas such as nose, lips, chin, cheeks, even hands. Get rid of crows feet, smile lines, shallow areas, and fine lines and wrinkles.

Colonics

Cleanse your body of unwanted toxins with colon hydrotherapy. Colonics clears your colon of the unwanted waste and keeps bowels flowing properly. This alternative medicine practice can help you to have a more effective digestive system, prevent constipation, kickstart weight loss, help increase your energy, and reduce your risk of colon cancer.

Chemical Peel

This body treatment technique is used to improve and smooth the texture of your skin using a chemical solution that causes the dead skin to slough off and eventually peel off. The regenerated skin is usually smoother and less wrinkled than the old skin. You can treat your face, neck, chest, back, or your whole body. This is good for acne skin, dry skin, dull skin, aging or congested skin.

Hair Removal

Mommy Makeover Procedures

As women from all walks prepare to be showered with love and gifts this Mother’s Day, one gift that can be given is the opportunity to be refreshed and rejuvenated with a mommy makeover. Celebrate motherhood everyday. Here are some of the procedures offered at Inspire Med Spa to get your mom feeling back to her old self in virtually no time.

SmartLipo

Get rid of that stubborn belly fat or love handles with SmartLipo. SmartLipo, unlike traditional liposuction, uses a laser to liquefy fat. It is minimally invasive, and while removing unwanted fat deposits, it tones and firms loose skin resulting in a youthful firm finish. It has quickly become as popular as “lunchtime procedures,” as the whole process takes about 2-3 hours depending on areas being treated. The procedure has minimal downtime of about one to two days to which normal activities can be achieved. Full results can be seen within a few weeks and results can be permanent with proper maintenance.

Botox

Botox is commonly used to reduce or eliminate the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It has the ability to relax the muscles used to create facial expressions, giving a more youthful look. Whether a client is looking for a “frozen” look, a rejuvenated or youthful look, our Botox strategists can help achieve the look desired. Botox can also even be used to help treat migraines and excessive sweating. Visual effects from Botox can be seen in as little as three days and last up to four months.

Carboxy Therapy

This is the newest, simple technique to dramatically improve the appearance of skin, cellulite and stretch-marks by increasing the metabolism of adipose (fat) tissue and improving the quality and firmness of the skin. When injected into the area via a special technique, carbon dioxide is toxic to fat cells. Fat cells literally burst and are eliminated by the body. It’s safe for all skin types and since it’s a noninvasive procedure, there is no downtime.

Sclerotherapy

This is the most common treatment for varicose spider vein removal. This involves injecting a solution directly into the vein. The solution causes the vein to scar and collapse, forcing the blood to reroute through healthier veins. The collapsed veins are absorbed by local tissue and eventually fade. Several treatments may be needed depending on size of area. Legs and arms are best treated.

Dermal Fillers

Help mom get back her youthful look with a “liquid facelift.” Dermal fillers are the alternative for cosmetic surgery and are good for plumping lips, filling shallow areas, and removing lines and wrinkles. Treat lips, smokers lines, jaw lines, under the eyes and plenty more areas. Depending on the area, it generally takes a short time to complete and has no downtime.

Wax/Laser Hair Removal

Reveal smooth, clean skin with either of our hair removal services. Our expert aestheticians only use the highest quality products on the market for waxes. And for the laser, the aestheticians match the laser to the client’s skin tone. Both results are long lasting and leaves skin looking clear and fresh.

There are a lot of other med spa services to help mom feel refreshed and rejuvenated. Such as IV Vitamin Therapy to replenish energy, rid sickness and kickstart weight loss, among other benefits. We offer a variety of spa facials to rejuvenate skin. Colonics to rid the body of unwanted waste. This Mother’s Day, give your mom the special treat of virtually turning back the hands of time to keep her happy and healthy.

Removing Fat & Toning

SmartLipo

Have you been constantly hitting the gym, but you just can’t seem to get rid of that stubborn area that haunts you? SmartLipo might be the way to go on this one. SmartLipo is the surgical use of a laser to liquefy fat to easily remove fat deposits from between the skin and muscle. Quite different from traditional liposuction, it has an improved comfort level and minimized postoperative discomfort. Use SmartLipo to contour and tighten your skin with minimal tissue trauma and recover quickly, seeing results much sooner than with traditional lipo. With proper maintenance of diet and exercise, results from SmartLipo can be permanent. Step out in total confidence.

Carboxy Therapy

If you feel a little self-conscience about those stretch marks or cellulite, carboxy therapy might be the right choice for you. Via a special injection technique, carbon dioxide is toxic to fat cells. Fat cells burst and are eliminated by the body. Treatments are quick and comfortable and have no downtime. Maintenance may be required for continued results and final results are seen several weeks after the treatment series.

Improving Skin

Sclerotherapy

Varicose and spider veins can appear on our legs for a variety of reasons and can be really difficult to get rid of. Have no fear, though, because it is possible to rid them. Sclerotherapy involves injecting a solution directly into the vein that causes the vein to scar and collapse, forcing blood to reroute through healthier veins. Collapsed veins reabsorb into local tissue and eventually fade. Full results are seen after a few weeks, so if there are any big events planned, give yourself some time to get this procedure done!

Hair Removal

Remove all that unwanted body hair! Our wax services are available for a variety of areas. Our expert aestheticians use the highest quality waxing products to ensure the best and long lasting smooth look you desire with minimal discomfort. Looking for an even longer lasting procedure? Try our laser hair removal service. Our medical aestheticians will examine your skin and match you with the type of laser best suited to your skin tone. Depending on the size and area being treated, your aesthetician will advise you on how many treatments you will need and how to prep and maintain after the procedure is completed.

Chemical Peel

Improve the texture and look of your facial skin and remove fine lines and wrinkles with one of our chemical peel treatments. Chemical peels offer a variety of benefits including a reduction of pore size, clearing blemishes, more balanced oil production, and an overall healthier appearance.

Taking care of our insides

IV Vitamin Therapy

IV vitamin therapy has become the new craze among celebrities. We offer this treatment right here at Inspire Med Spa. A custom IV drip of essential vitamins could be just what you need to beat fatigue, clear your skin, combat sickness, help you lose weight, and more. Finish off your checklist with an IV therapy treatment to seal the look and feel you are going for this season.

Colonics

Rid your body of unwanted toxins and kickstart your weight loss journey with colon hydrotherapy. Not only that, colonics is beneficial for a more effective digestive system, preventing constipation, increasing your energy levels, and much more. Though colonics is for removing waste and not fat, some patients even report weight loss or feeling lighter after a session. Colonics helps with weight loss if you increase your fiber intake, drink lots of water, and get plenty of exercise. So, not only will you look better, you will feel better too.

Lunchtime Procedures

In this day and age, people have such bustling schedules that they don’t have much time for anything else, including taking care of themselves. Inspire Med Spa can help you get rejuvenated in no time with these quick fix procedures. They’re so fast that you can do on your lunch break.

Botox: Treat fine lines, excessive sweating, or even migraines with a quick Botox fix on your lunch break. One of our injectors will customize a treatment plan that is right for you, whether you want a natural look, frozen look, or anything in between. We tailor treatments to fit your desired result as best as possible. Botox procedures can take as little as a few minutes and no anesthesia is required. While you can typically return to your normal day, it is recommended that for 24 hours after the procedure you refrain from exercise, getting a facial, or a massage. The effects of the botox can be seen in as little as three days but can take 10 days to see the maximum result. Visible results can be seen for up to four months.

Dermal Fillers: Re-establish young totality to your face. Plump up those lips. Fill in old wrinkles. Dermal fillers offer a large number of the advantages of a surgical facelift without any downtime. The time to complete a treatment is relatively short depending on areas treated, and is a great alternative to cosmetic procedures. Inspire Med Spa incorporates the use of Radiesse, Restylane, and Juvéderm. Other areas that can be treated are cheeks, jawline, smokers lines, nasolabial folds, and more. Upon assessment with one of our experts, we’ll figure out which filler is best for you to get the result that you desire.

Laser hair removal: Although this procedure is relatively short, it is done is sessions. The amount of sessions varies per person and areas being treated. A medical aesthetician will determine what number your skin tone falls into on the Fitzpatrick Scale in order to determine which laser type will be most effective for your skin type. Immediately following each treatment, your skin may appear red and swollen, but you will be able to resume normal activities. During your consultation you will find out how many sessions you will need, and receive all the precautions and instructions to go along with all procedures. Common areas treated include arms, legs, bikini, full Brazilian, chin, upper lip, and more.

Schlerotherapy: This is the most common treatment for spider veins and varicose veins. It involves injecting a solution directly into the vein that causes the vein to scar and collapse, forcing blood to reroute into healthier veins. The collapsed vein is absorbed into local tissue and fades within a few weeks. This procedure also may require a few treatments depending on the size and amount of veins being treated, but typical treatments last between 5-30 minutes.

Colonics: This is an alternative medicine practice that clears the colon of unwanted toxins. This could allow for a more effective digestive system, the prevention of constipation, increased energy, kickstart weight loss, and decrease the risk of colon cancer. This procedure typically takes 45 minutes to an hour.

Photofacials: Get a skin rejuvenating facial with our expert aestheticians at our Lyndhurst NJ Location. Treat a variety of skin conditions and concerns. Our focus is on identifying the most effective methods to correct skin problems and regenerate, nurture and replenish your skin. We offer several types of facials. Consult with us to find out which is best for you.

Rid Underarm Fat With Carboxy Therapy

We all know very well the places in our body where the fat is the most stubborn, our underarms being one of them. Nothing is worse than feeling uncomfortable in your own body. Although you feel like you’ve tried everything, consider trying carboxytherapy.

Carboxytherapy is a new and simple technique that uses carbon dioxide to get rid of cellulite, stretch marks, and scars, and it plumps the skin. Micro injections of carbon dioxide are injected just beneath the surface of the skin in the affected areas. When injected via a special technique, carbon dioxide is toxic to fat cells, causing them to burst and be eliminated from the body. The carbon dioxide increases the metabolism of the fat tissue and stimulates circulation and collagen production which will improve the appearance of skin.

This is a nonsurgical technique. The carbon dioxide is injected into the subcutaneous fat via the finest needle available. From one injection point, the carbon dioxide is diffuses easily to adjacent tissue and causes surrounding blood vessels to dilate. Wider vessels means stronger blood supply which then in turn brings lots of oxygen and nutrients into the area. The extra oxygen eliminates the extra fluid build-up between cells and stimulates the skin to produce more collagen. The result is fewer fat cells and firmer, younger skin.

Good results are expected, however, every person is different. There is no guarantee of 100% correction. Depending on the severity of the condition, real expectations would be an improvement in the treatment area with a series of weekly treatments. Improvements achieved are generally temporary and may require you to be touched up as often as every one to six months.

During the procedure you may feel pain or discomfort. Expected side include pinpoint minimal bleeding, redness, bloating, warmth, or temporary swelling that only lasts a few minutes. Carboxytherapy is safe for all skin types, as we all naturally produce carbon dioxide when we exhale. No permanent side effects have been recorded.

Carboxytherapy are designed to dissolve fat and helps to improve microcirculation. It can be most suitable for the most stubborn areas such as underarm fat, love handles and double chin. Lose inches, fat and cellulite and get a smoother, more refined, sculpted figure.

The best part? There is no down time. Book a consultation with Inspire Med Spa. We can help you look and feel your best in a matter of a few weeks to a few months.

Being Safe with Injections

It’s 2019, and you probably feel like it’s time to do a little sprucing up. You want to take care of yourself a little better. You want that old youthful glow that you once had that’s now slowly disappearing. Considering doing cosmetic procedures to give yourself a little lift? Be wise. Make sure your doctor is very careful with handling those needles!

The World Health Organization defines a safe injection as one that does not harm the recipient, one that doesn’t harm the health care worker, and one that doesn’t harm the community. It doesn’t just have to be about cosmetic injections. It includes vaccinations and IV procedures. When you are consulting with your plastic surgeon about the cosmetic procedure you wish to have done, be sure to walk out of there with no question left unanswered. Be certain  you know all of the potential risks and decide for yourself whether the benefits outweigh them. Make sure that the plastic surgeon of your choice is Board Certified and someone with years of experience that you can trust. Take all of the precautions you need to take before signing that waiver to begin that procedure.

Lots of cosmetic procedures are considered to be safe. However, one important factor to consider is needle hygiene. Quite frequently, people like to have their procedures done in places where it’s cheaper, but the cheaper outlets are not always promising of the best and cleanest results. Fun fact: 40% of injections worldwide are administered with unsterilized, reused syringes and needles, and in some countries this proportion is 70%. This unsafe practice exposes millions of people to infections. New and sterile needles should be used for every injection to prevent skin irritation and injection-site infections. Used needles should be disposed of in a sharps container to prevent accidental sticks to other people.

These injectable fillers and IV therapy treatments are deemed relatively safe by the FDA, manufacturers, and plastic surgeons. Though good results are expected of every procedure, they have their share of possible side effects, some more serious than others. Here at Inspire Med Spa, you’ll get excellent service provided by board certified doctors with years of experience and a staff that will go above and beyond to meet whatever needs you have. We’ll take all your concerns into consideration and do the best to answer all your questions in order to make things as clear and as comfortable as possible, all before you decide to give the procedure the green light.
